Hand Made 6” 320 Layer Damascus Petty/Chef’s Knife with Custom Saya

$650.00
Sold Out

This chef’s knife is hand forged from 320 layers of alternating 1084 and 15n20 steel creating a fine pattern of light and dark steel. The handle was made from Hawaiian curly koa, copper, and Macassar ebony. A beautiful protective custom made saya is included, made from Michigan curly spalted maple. This classic knife steel takes a razor sharp edge with good edge retention and offers easy honing and re-sharpening when needed.

As with all high carbon steels the steel is susceptible to discoloration and patina development, but proper care and maintenance will keep the steel looking great for generations. The contrast of colors may diminish slightly over time, but you will always be able to see the Damascus layers. To bring the layer contrast back to life, re-etching in instant coffee can be done from time to time.
